The Great Novena brought Pope Leo to visit Bellarmine University!
Two routes, one from Louisville and another from the south, converged at the historic Holy Cross church, where the earliest Catholics in Kentucky once worshipped. We then traveled together to St. Joseph's Proto-Cathedral, the original headquarters of our Archdiocese!
After doing the Seven Sorrows of Mary devotion while approaching the grave of Fr. Charles Nerinckx, the "Apostle of Kentucky", who had died 200 years ago to that day (August 12th, 2024), we then journeyed to the Abbey of Gethsemani, where we gathered on Calvary Hill (see the image to the left).
There we gathered for a Great Novena info-session, and like St. John Baptist of old, where preparing the way for this movement.
